Top 7 Tips To Increase Your Yoga Teacher Income

Making a decent living from teaching yoga classes is extremely difficult unless you have 5 or more full classes each week. Promoting your other services and selling products will help increase your income.
Here are seven tips on how to increase yoga teacher income...

Tip #1 Class Handout
Create a handout for your service (e.g. 1-2-1 sessions) and print a bunch of them. At the beginning of your next class briefly mention: "I have a special offer at the moment for 1-2-1 yoga sessions. If you're interested, please pick up a flyer from the table on the way out." At the end of the class, remind them about the handout.
Tip #2 Create Kits
For example you could create a kit called: The Lazy Man Yoga Kit. It could contain: yoga block, tie, lavender eye bag, bolster, meditation CD, yoga DVD, incense sticks, incense holder, etc). Make sure your Kit has an interesting name!
Tip #3 Holiday
Plan a yoga holiday. This is by far the most profitable tactic! You can earn more in one week than in a whole year of teaching yoga classes. I created a resource called: Yoga Retreat Kit, to help you plan a successful yoga retreat.
Tip #4 The Piggyback Tactic
If you don't want to go to the effort of planning a retreat, do a Google search for luxury retreats in your geographical area (e.g. town or county), find the telephone numbers and call them up saying something like: "Hi my name is George Watts, I'm a yoga teacher based in Builth Wells, Powys. I'm calling to let you know if you're ever looking for a yoga teacher to give a class during your retreat, I'm available."
Tip #5 Make Money While You Sleep With Passive Income
Back in 2004 I was a successful dropshipper - I sold products on eBay that I never saw. I didn't have to pack or post I found businesses that had great products and sold them on eBay. The businesses would then package and ship the products to my customers. It was like printing money. It almost felt like cheating, but was and still is 100% legal. It's the perfect yoga passive income to supplement your income. The best part is that once you've found products and listed them on eBay, your only work consists of clicking a button once a week.
Tip #6 Unique Clothing
You must stand out from the crowd! Do not sell run of the mill clothing. Selling unique yoga clothing can be a great excuse for going on holidays. My mum taught me this. She used to own a jewellery shop and would take 2 or 3 holidays abroad every year searching for new products for her shop.
Tip #7 Unique Products
Create a unique product. Let your imagination and creative juices flow. When you create something that is UNIQUE, you're far more likely to attract customers from all over the world. Here a few examples to get you going:
* Acrobatic Yoga DVD (for the adventurous yogi)
* AntiGravity Yoga DVD (where you're suspended in mid air)
* Asanas For Alcoholics
* Baby Yoga Clothing
* Chic Yoga Handbags With Asanas
* Denim Yoga Clothing (look and feel cool)
* Doing Yoga With Your Dog DVD
* OM Jewellery
* Ruff Yoga DVD (yoga for dogs)
* Star Wars Yoga DVD (which will make you a flexible Jedi Master. It includes poses such as 'downward facing Wookie'. This is my favourite example of unique products. I think it's pure genius! It will make a great gift at Christmas time).
* Yoga Dogs Calendar
* Yoga Straws (includes a backbend on the top half of the straw so you can make your straw do a really deep backbend).
* Yoga Thongs
* Yoga For Equestrians DVD
* Yoga For Inmates DVD
